Formed in 1910, the Elmwood Curling Club is tucked away in a residential area, with a beautiful long outdoor mural depicting the history of curling in Canada.

Local historian among 150 Winnipeggers to receive honorary medal

Jim Smith, the founder of the North East Winnipeg Historical Society, is one of 150 community-minded Winnipeggers to receive a Winnipeg 150 medal marking the founding of the city in 1873. He says he started the society to address a lack of information about his corner of the city.
